APERTURE vs. SHUTTER

Aperture: a device that controls the amount of light that reaches the film or sensor. This is also called the f-number.

-small aperture: the advantage to having a small aperture is it increases the depth-of-field. An increased depth-of-field allows you to take pictures of landscapes in very sharp focus. This also you to use a slow shutter speed.

-large aperture: A large aperture allows more light to reach the sensor which also allows you to use a faster shutter speed.

Shutter Speed: the amount of time the shutter stays open while talking a photograph

REGULATION DARTS

This picture really caught my eye because of the darkness of the clouds and then the hints of popping color in the building. I would like to create this effect because if i could make a regular picture look like this, i would be in awe!

GRAFFITI REFLECTION

Out of all the pictures that i have posted this one is one of my top favorites. This is such a creative way to photograph graffiti and then to add in the reflection on the still water, it is just simply amazing. The darkness that is shown in this picture through the clouds and the buildings make the colors in
the graffiti pop even more.

JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE BEACH

I have always loved black and white photos. This picture is so simple but so pretty. The way the photographer took this picture made the dock look like it was going on forever. Even though this effect is simple i would love to do it to some of my photos. The black a nd white effect can easily change a mediocre photograph to a more professional looking picture.

MASQUERADE BALL MASKS

I love everything about this photo. The colors are so vivid and gorgeous. The effect with the reflection of the masks in the background make the picture so interesting to look at. There is so much going on in this picture but the details are so precise and the idea behind it is very creative.

SOAP FILM

This was one of the first pictures that caught my eye.The brightness of the colors and how they are blended together is just amazing to me. This picture reminds me of the oil found in the street when a car was idling for too long.

ALLEYWAY GRAFFITI

I love the art behind graffiti and it is one of the things I love taking pictures of the most. Graffiti can be interpreted many different ways and the person who is looking at it can see things that some other people cant. I love the angle that the picture was taken in and the way it makes it seem like the doors at the end of the alley are so far away. I'm pretty sure the photographer who took this used a fish eye lens. I located this picture on Google under photography graffiti images.

JUST ME AND MY GUITAR

The simplicity of this picture and the guitar made me fall in love with it. I cant play the guitar really well but I have grown up with music throughout my life and my brother who is a musician plays all the time and i love to listen in on him.

I would like to recreate this picture because i have a guitar of my own i just don't play it as much and i think it would be a really cool picture when its finished.

BOURNEMOUTH PIER

This picture is absolutely beautiful. The illuminating light coming from behind the clouds, the reflection on the water and the little hint of detail that brightens the rocks makes this picture come alive.

I am not sure how you would recreate this effect, but i like the look of it.

SUNGLASSES

This picture jumped off the page at me. The different colors of the sunglasses and the shades and the reflection of each pair of sunglasses made this picture so unique. While looking at this page i got the feeling i was down the shore and i am a beach bum at heart.

I would love to recreate the multiple reflection effect on something other than sunglasses because it would really show a lot of different pictures in one.
